About

A little about my art and myself…

I’m Lauren and I live in Hampshire UK with my partner, Tom and our little boy. We’re so very lucky to have woodland on our doorstep which is a huge inspiration for my artwork. Tom is an incredibly talented photographer and does all of my photography for my paintings, so I have a professional on hand when it comes to creating prints!

My subjects are our amazing wildlife and I also incorporate the foliage from the woodland by painting and pressing it straight onto my canvas. I love to get my little boy involved with collecting foliage and what he would name my artwork. Firstly because I think it’s fascinating and often hilarious what he comes out with! Secondly to encourage our little people to have a voice, opinion and interest not only in art but wildlife and its importance not just today and their significance for the present and future.

I hope to portray our precious wildlife in an abstractly vibrant and mystical way with appreciation and admiration of animals. I love to play with the realms of colour and bring different styles of painting I have developed over the years to one I truly enjoy. Using foliage in my work is another element I feel brings even more connection to nature. I forage for things I think would work with my piece in the woods and we have so much fun in the process! The way I never know exactly how it will come out on the canvas is both spontaneous and free flowing like nature itself.
