The feathers dispersing could also be seen as ‘shards’ of glass fragments- a subtle but poignant reflection of the fragility of nature and that it is within our grasp to protect, cherish and honour it.
Pressed with real feathers found along the field hedgerows of the South Downs. An array of different foliage has also been painted and pressed directly onto the canvas for a imperfectly true portrayal of natures plants and undergrowth. A final touch of metallic highlights of gold and copper give an elegance finish to the final piece.
